Some homes are simply beautiful. Others leave a lasting impression long after you leave. Las Palomas is one of those rare places.
Set on Ibiza’s peaceful west coast, Las Palomas Ibiza is a four-bedroom holiday villa shaped by light, tranquillity and deeply personal memories. We spoke with its owner, Paloma, about the story behind the house, the inspiration for its design and what she hopes every guest experiences during their stay.
The Story Behind Las Palomas Ibiza
When did you first discover the house?
After spending ten years holidaying on this wonderful island, I decided it was time to find a home of my own here. A friend invited me to spend a weekend at his villa, and I completely fell in love with it. Fortunately, it happened to be for sale, so I took the leap.
What made you fall in love with it?
Honestly, everything. The light, the tranquillity, and above all the incredible natural surroundings, with uninterrupted sea views and endless sunsets that paint the sky in different colours every evening.
Where does the name "Las Palomas" come from?
My mother, to whom I was incredibly close, was called Paloma, just like me. There were so many birds flying around the property that they reminded me of us both. It felt like the perfect name, almost like seeing the world from a bird’s perspective.
How would you describe the spirit of the house in three words?
Peaceful. Joyful. Natural.
What does this home represent to you personally?
It is everything at once: a retreat, a family home, a place to welcome friends, and above all, a peaceful sanctuary where happiness comes naturally.

How Does Las Palomas Connect with Its Natural Surroundings?
What was your main intention when decorating the villa?
I wanted to create a space that allows you to fully enjoy the surroundings. Simple, welcoming and comfortable.
Is there a particular object, artwork or piece of furniture with a special story?
Yes. The paintings by my wonderful friend Guillermo Fornés, the mural of flying doves in the living room, the long narrow dining room window overlooking the cactus garden, and the handcrafted Thai wooden bed in the master suite all have a special meaning to me.
The house feels incredibly bright and connected to the outdoors. Was that important?
Absolutely. It was essential that the landscape could be enjoyed from every part of the house. Every bedroom has sea views.
How does the atmosphere change throughout the day?
In the morning, you wake up to beautiful natural light and the sounds of nature while enjoying breakfast in the garden. During the afternoon, after a swim in the infinity pool, the cool interior of the house is perfect for a siesta. As evening arrives, especially on warm summer days, you can watch the sunset from a hammock beneath the pine trees, where every evening brings a different palette of colours and light.
What Does Everyday Life at Las Palomas Feel Like?
What is your favourite moment of the day here?
Sunset. Without question. It is spectacular.
Where do you enjoy your morning coffee?
Somewhere in the garden. There are so many beautiful corners that I never have to choose just one.
Where is the perfect place for an aperitif?
By the pool, with your feet in the water.
And where is the best place to read, relax or simply do nothing?
The possibilities are endless. Everyone finds their own favourite corner.

Why Are the Sunsets at Las Palomas So Special?
What do you feel when looking out towards the sea from the house?
The infinite beauty of nature.
Sunsets seem to be an essential part of life here. Do you have a favourite memory?
Many. Some of my happiest memories are watching the sunset with my mother and friends while listening to jazz or soft, relaxing music.
How would you describe summer nights at Las Palomas?
They are magical. Nights to remember, especially when the full moon rises over the sea.
