    The iconic Montesol Hilton Hotel

The Montesol Ibiza Gran Hotel, with 33 rooms, will be opened this summer throughout the year and will make Hilton debuts on the island.

The senior vice-president of business development for EMEA Hilton Worldwide, Mr. Patrick Fitzgibbon, explained in a statement that "Ibiza is the ideal place to host the first Curio hotel in Spain" because of his "reputation as a luxury summer destination and is recognized as one of the most visited and popular destinations in Spain. "

From the hotel chain it recalled that the Montesol, founded in 1933, was the first hotel built in Ibiza and used as military headquarters during the Spanish Civil War.

      Posidonia Oceanica

From time to time you will see masses of seaweed washed up on the beaches of Ibiza. It is in actual fact that it is not seaweed but a plant which has adapted to living under the ocean called Posidonia Oceanica.

The Posidonia oceanica (commonly known as Neptune Grass or Mediterranean tapeweed) forms large underwater meadows that are an important part of the ecosystem. The fruit is free floating and known in Italy as "the olive of the sea" (l’oliva di mare). Balls of fibrous material from its foliage, known as egagropili, wash up to nearby shorelines.

In May 2006, a team of international scientists discovered a Posidonia oceanica plant between the islands of Formentera and Ibiza measuring 8 km long and estimated to be more than 100,000 years old.

It grows horizontally and can cover large areas of the seabed, and it also grows vertically leading to the formation of barrier reefs, which can reach 2m in height. Posidonia oceanica stabilises the seabed and protects the coastline from storms.

Each year, the first autumn storms deposit large quantities of its dead leaves on the coast, creating yet another natural barrier by preventing beach erosion and protecting the sand dune systems.

        The Ibiza Clubbing Season 2016

        [three_fourth_last]

As we enter the Spring season here on the island, with the beautiful wild flowers and Almond blossom in full Bloom, many of Ibiza’s famous Clubs will be starting to look at their summer schedules and think about the dates for their Opening parties in May and June. With over 7 super clubs on the island, the Opening Party months are very busy in Ibiza

As with tradition on the island, the first club to open its doors for the summer season, is always the family owned and beautiful Es Paradis, the famous and classically designed pyramid shaped glass roofed club, will kick off its Ibiza 2016 summer season on Saturday May 21st 2016. The Es Paradis Opening party, signals the official opening of the clubbing season here in Ibiza and it starts to remind us to get ready for the busy summer months ahead.

One of the biggest Ibiza Opening parties, is the famous Space Opening party, which takes place in Playa Den Bossa every year, with thousands of people traveling from Europe and America to visit the club for some of the finest DJ’s in the world. This summer in Ibiza, the Space Opening Party will be held on, Sunday, May 29th and it is a 24 hour party affair, so make sure to be well prepared for the festivities.

Ushuaia will also have its Opening party that weekend. Just across from Space, the Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel is a five star luxury beach hotel with a large outdoor area for dancing, complete with three fine dining restaurants, a full-service cocktail bar, two outdoor pools and even a spa. Because it’s technically a hotel and not a club, Ushuaia is a rare place revellers can (legally) dance during daylight hours. The dance floor is ordinarily open from morning to midnight.

The underground DC10 which is oponed the day after the Space Opening party is already etched firmly into the history books of dance music culture, the small farmhouse at the end of the airport runway in Ibiza has become one of the best known clubbing destinations on the planet, principally due to the hedonistic and no holds barred afterhour sessions of Monday daytime party Circo Loco.

Pacha will officially open for the summer season with the David Guetta FMIF party at the much loved Ibicenco club in Ibiza town. The 3000-capacity venue has five different rooms: the large Main Room for house and techno, the Funky Room for more disco flavours, the Roof Terrace for lounge and chillout, and downstairs features Sweet Pacha for retro pop and the Global Room—the first main room back when Pacha opened in 1973

On May 14th and in a change to recent years, Amnesia will hold its Opening party. Amnesia features two large rooms, one with an air-conditioned upstairs VIP lounge and a dance floor lined by infamous cooling "ice cannons," as well as an enclosed greenhouse terrace "sunrise dance floor" that becomes flooded with rays as the sun rises in the morning.

And, on the 27th of May we will have the opening party of Privilege, impossible to miss, the world’s largest club, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. With 25 metre-high ceilings and an indoor pool in the main room, plus a stage with erotic dancers, it’s quite literally a spectacle of a nightclub. Privilege also features a multi-level chillout area with garden, a dome with views of the island, the Coco Loco room and a Mediterranean restaurant.

        Let’s go!

          The Goddess Tanit

Let’s talk a bit of our history. The Carthaginian goddess Tanit was worshiped as the goddess of sexuality, fertility and death. Ibiza is known as it’s island since the Carthaginians whom were brought it in 600 BC when they settled in Ibiza. The Romans called "Dea Caelestis" and venerated as "Juno".

Today, the goddess Tanit remains revered in Ibiza and its ancient temple, a cave with an altar in the center, located on the road to Portinatx and designated "Cova de’s Cuieram" is a different tourist attraction in northern the island.

For the Carthaginians, Ibiza was sacred ground and buried the nobility in Dalt Vila, in "Puig d’es Molins" which today remains one of the best examples of Carthaginian necropolis in the world.

It is thought that the powers of Tanit reside in drinking water (sources, etc.) of the island, which contains, according to legend, the power of purification, fertility and magnetic balance. Punic rituals are still practiced with dances around wells and water sources to commemorate Tanit.

In early 1900, six hundred clay statues of Tanit in "Cova Des Cuieram" are discovered and now on display in the Archaeological Museum of Ibiza Town. The caves are in a remote forest area in a mountain of San Vicente and their opening to the public from 9 to 13 hours. A car is essential if you wish to visit these caves.

          Let’s go and see it!!

              Tap water in Ibiza

Both tourists who come to Ibiza on holiday or the people who live all year long on the island, must understand that water is a valuable good. Here at Prestige Properties, one of the most important estate agencies in Ibiza since 1989, many people ask if tap water is drinkable. There is a rumor that the tap water is not drinkable, however it is not true. On the island, running water comes from two places: from the rain and from the sea; rainwater falls and seeps into the underground lakes, while sea water is pumped by three desalination plants that cleanse water, extract salt and treat it with chlorine in order to kill bacteria.

The world of gambling has witnessed a significant transformation with the advent of online casinos. Over the past few decades, the popularity of online casinos has grown exponentially, providing players with a free $50 pokies no deposit sign up bonus australia convenient and immersive gambling experience from the comfort of their homes. This article delves into the factors contributing to the increasing prevalence of online casinos and presents a timeline of their evolution.

Then, drink tap water in Ibiza is possible, however, the taste really is not pleasant; in addition, to drink this water too long, you can get stomach aches since the water from private wells has high levels of lime. To be honest, it is a privilege to have its own drinking water but often not good for the body.

In Ibiza, there are water sale areas, water from boreholes which has been treated. This is the cheapest way of quality drinking water without fearing those dreaded problems.

Anyway, most tourists drink bottled water, which can be bought in any supermarket on the island. On the other hand, for children, bottled water with lower levels of mineralization is always better.

It is always better to drink water with high levels of magnesium and low sodium levels.
