Dear clients, collaborators and friends of Prestige,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share with you the passing of our beloved founder and director Pascale Dufournier. On Friday April 1st, she succumbed to cancer after battling it for months. We have lost a wonderful person who was the very heart and soul of this company that we love.
As a young woman Pascale followed her dreams by coming to Ibiza from Paris in 1976. Her passion for design, elegance and the island that she loved, led to the creation of Prestige Properties in 1983. That instinct to follow her heart has been an inspiration for all of us who have been privileged to be part of her Prestige family. At her core, Pascale always remained that young girl with big dreams, a big heart and the courage to live life to the fullest.
Pascale will always be remembered for the many beautiful qualities that she brought to her life and her work – generosity, a caring way of being, an unparalleled sense of style and humour, a joyful zest for life, and her love for Ibiza – ever and always the island of her dreams. She was devoted to sharing her joy with family, friends, and those of us who were fortunate enough to be part of the very personal company that she founded and nurtured. As Pascale often said, "Prestige has never been work to me, it has been my family."
We have lost a partner, a leader, a friend, a mother, a wife, a grandmother, a daughter, and a sister. She will be so, so deeply missed. And yet her presence will always be with us, in our lives and at Prestige. Her enduring values of love and gratitude will guide us, and her passionate vision will inspire us. These are the gifts that Pascale has passed on to us as we look to the future and continue our journey together with you, our clients, collaborators and friends.
Very truly yours,
Víctor and Team Prestige

Everything you need to know about travelling to Ibiza this Summer 2021
From vaccinations, health tests (PCR & Antigens), COVID-19 flare-ups, and new virus strains, to changing restrictions and entry conditions for each European border, it would be totally justified to still feel a little apprehensive about travelling!
So, to help reassure everyone, we’ve put together our latest Ibiza summer 2021 travel update, with plenty of linked information about what needs to be done in order to travel with ease.
We want everyone to feel confident that Ibiza hosts many pleasurable lifestyle and travel opportunities, and has demonstrated a strong summer thus far for the season 2021.
What is the travel status of the Balearic Islands & Ibiza
If you are travelling from the UK, a traffic light travel system is currently in place which denotes the countries granted safe for entry and where citizens and residents are allowed to travel.
If a country is:
Red – you will only be allowed to enter the UK if you are a British or Irish National, or you have residence rights in the UK.
Amber – Arrivals from amber list countries who have been fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme (plus 14 days), will no longer need to quarantine or take a day 8 test if they can provide proof of their vaccination status to carriers in advance of travel to England.
Non-vaccinated passengers arriving from amber countries need to provide evidence of a negative test result prior to travel, self-isolate at home for 10 days, and take a test on day 2 and day 8 after arrival.
Green – Open for travel with required COVID-19 testing prior to returning to the UK.
The Balearic Islands, including Ibiza, were added to the AMBER LIST as of July 19th.
What do I need in terms of documentation and health requirements to enter Ibiza
When travelling to Ibiza whether from the UK, Europe or the rest of the world, arrivals at the border are required to provide proof of a negative PCR/Antigen test or health vaccination passport, and complete a simple health form with a QR code on arrival.
What are the current COVID-19 measurements and restrictions in Ibiza
Ibiza has been incredibly efficient over the past 18 months, and particularly cautious to ensure the health and well-being of everyone. Our restrictions and measurements are regularly reviewed and you can stay updated with our Covid-19 2021 News here.
The only main difference compared to pre-Covid-19 seasons, has so far been the closure of our nightclubs and large-scale overcrowded venues, including some hotel events. Certain other events, like planned weddings and cultural seated events are able to now go ahead with safety measurements and a maximum number of guests in place.
What is the tourism like in Ibiza
Our rentals team at Prestige Properties Ibiza and the local island community have seen a positive flow and strong enthusiasm for travel so far this season, with slightly less overcrowding, but still a vibrant and steady number of tourists across the board.
What’s on in Ibiza 2021?
Everyone is welcome and able to enjoy their holidays with the freedom to move around and experience everything on offer. All outdoor activities and social events, such as relaxing on beaches, swimming, sporting activities, visiting landmarks, shopping, local markets and hippy markets, and enjoying the restaurants and bars (including the beach clubs) are open and available as usual.
It has become apparent over the course of 2021, many more visitors have taken interest in private boat days with overnight Formentera stays, a variety of culinary experiences, luxury hotel day experiences, or enjoyed private villa settings and unique personal events.
Sa Trinxa Ibiza
Boat Charters
With five main marina ports including Marina Botafoch, Ibiza Marina, Ibiza Old Marina, Santa Eulalia and San Antonio, experiencing life out on the open waters, surrounded by the beautiful nature, under the sun, in peace and quiet has seemingly been an optimal choice for many island visitors over the last two seasons. Ibiza is filled with boating and yacht charter companies, however one of our preferred partners for many years is SunMarine, located in Marina Botafoch, near Ibiza town.
Creating the perfect boat day trip with a private skipper to explore beaches and bays of Ibiza, or even heading for a day trip over to Formentera has been an incredibly popular vacation experience with a variety of options to suit all styles and budgets.
Culinary Experiences
For the majority, a vacation in Ibiza also means the luxury and enjoyment of Mediterranean evenings with a little al fresco dining of great food and a little added ‘let your hair down’ events, like visiting the renowned Lio at Marina Botafoch, where guests can enjoy an incredibly stylish and elegant waterfront views of Ibiza bay and Dalt Vila from their open-air terrace and watch an engaging evening of performance and cabaret artists.
In fact, all of our restaurants and seated cultural venues have been fully open with terraces operating at full capacity since May. Over the past few months we have seen a positive influx of new restaurants and bars opening up in a variety of urban areas on the island.
For example, in Santa Eulalia the brand new restaurant, Higo, offers a unique experience in the world of Nikkei cuisine. Nikkei is grounded in centuries of culinary history, weaving the influence of Peruvian and Japanese cuisines.
Using the finest organic ingredients cultivated by their restaurant, they offer an exciting, fresh interpretation of Nikkei dishes, including lots of vegetarian options. Dine on their outdoor terrace garden and enjoy the beautiful views over the harbour of Santa Eulalia.
Equally, AristoSushi, formed by restaurateur and owner of Can Domingo Ibiza (a gastronomic reference point on the island) and his partner, have embarked together on a new adventure, expressing their love for Japanese cuisine.
Their brand-new restaurant, located in the heart of San Rafael, offers a modern-contemporary and intimate setting where guests are welcomed all year round to enjoy Ibiza’s most authentic sushi, using exceptionally high-quality and specifically selected products, comprising ecological salmon, bluefin tuna, and organic Italian rice. And, their unique approach to take-away sushi and delivery boat services makes for one elegant dining experience.
Luxury Hotel Day Experiences
Enjoying a little extra luxury seems to be high on everyone’s vacation agenda this summer season. Whether due to missing out on the travel season of 2020, the accredited stress over recent global events, or a ‘life’s too short attitude’, we have certainly seen many take to Hotel Day Experiences including lavish lunches, spa treatments and relaxing pool afternoons listening to live DJ sets over cocktails.
OKU Hotel opened its doors for summer 2021 offering a five-star venue just a moments’ walk from the beautiful Cala Gracio bay. The stylish hotel is perfect for those wishing to experience the very best of Ibiza’s lifestyle with high-quality food, a stylish design, and evenings brought to life by resident DJ’s as the sun goes down. Ibiza Spa & Wellness Retreat at the brand-new Six Sense Hotel offers treatments that also go beyond ordinary. With 1,200 square meters dedicated for wellness, the centre hosts a spectacular array of facilities including a Rose Bar longevity lounge, steam room, hammam and a holistic anti-aging program with nutrition guidance and modern healing methods, along with a state-of-the-art fitness area, café and juice bar, and outdoors massage catacombs with direct access to the organic gardens, where ingredients for the spa botanicals and Alchemy Bar are grown.
Private Villa Events
For those who wish to stay away from the cosmopolitan scene and the crowds, or even for those who would prefer to keep the night young, then many private and ultra-exclusive catering and events teams are available.
Intimate home dinner parties with live DJs, music, entertainment, spectacular personalised projection shows, great food, personal cocktail mixologists, and kid’s entertainment are just to mention a few of the innovative requests received across the island to create dream holidays. Before organising such an event please inform yourself about the latest Covid-19-related restrictions regarding reunions and "night life".
One thing is certain, with any travel commitment, we all need to be prepared for the possibilities of change and adaptability to such circumstances. The season of 2021 has gone well thus far, and we can see the light at the end of the tunnel for travel and tourism returning back to normal in the near future.
The good news is our Prestige concierge and rentals team are well-equipped and experienced in helping prepare your perfect holiday from beginning to end. Just simply let us know how we can best assist you!

What to expect for the season of 2021 – Ibiza Travel News Update
Our rentals team at Prestige Properties Ibiza has seen a positive flow and strong enthusiasm for travel this upcoming 2021 season, with many keen clients determined to get their well-deserved summer holidays secured this year – finally!
However, pursuing a dream 2021 vacation still comes with a little apprehension. Naturally, everyone is curious to know what ‘expectations’ they should encounter over the coming months.
So, we’ve put together a little ‘Season 2021’ blog for everybody wishing to travel to Ibiza, with plenty of linked information at your disposal. We want everyone to feel confident that Ibiza hosts many pleasurable lifestyle and travel opportunities, and help you make the most of your 2021 travel.
What do I need to be able to Travel to Ibiza
With most European travel borders now already open, (with the remaining reopening in the coming weeks – the UK particularly has recently announced set plans to allow travel to the Baleares once again, classifying it as a safe holiday destination, with no need to quarantine upon return) we are confidently expecting to see a promising influx of tourism.
Travelling to Ibiza is possible for tourism with a negative PCR test, filling out a simple health form with a QR code on arrival and, naturally, respecting any safety measures and regulations in place.
What are the current COVID-19 measurements and restrictions in Ibiza
Ibiza has been incredibly efficient over the past year, and particularly cautious over the winter season to ensure the health and well-being of everyone. Our restrictions and measurements are regularly reviewed, in which we are currently seeing further de-escalation month after month. You can stay updated with our Covid-19 2021 News here.
The general expectation is that we will see a season similar to that of 2020, whereby everyone is welcome and able to enjoy their holidays with the freedom to move around and experience everything on offer.
All outdoor activities and social events, such as relaxing on beaches, swimming, sporting activities, visiting landmarks, shopping, local markets and hippy markets, and enjoying the restaurants and bars (including the beach clubs) are available, with many seasonal venues already open.
The only main difference compared to pre-Covid-19 seasons, has so far been the closure of our nightclubs and large-scale overcrowded venues, including some hotel events. However, recently the government announced that the summer could hold potentially good news regarding re-opening our world-famous nightclubs. Measurements are expected to be in place, but the overall aim is to have the clubs open with the provision of health passports, declaring full vaccinations as a requirement for entry by July.
What’s on in Ibiza 2021
Many of our visitors from the 2020 season offered great feedback from their last summer vacation. It became quite apparent visitors took more time to explore the great outdoors, developed a special interest in culinary experiences and daytime venues, enjoyed the luxury of private boat days with their friends, simply relaxed, or adventured those less travelled paths, discovering the island’s hidden gems.
You can take a look at our Winter in Ibiza – Nature & Leisure Activities and Cultural Activities and Festivities blog to discover in detail our island’s hotspots, outdoor activities, and experiences, which are of course available all year round. Here you will find everything you need to create a fun and memorable holiday itinerary from vintage hippy cars, regular artisan markets, museums, watersports, and everything in between.
During May and June Ibiza has planned to host some great extracurricular activities that can be enjoyed by all. The Balearic Triathlon Federation and Ibiza Blue Challenge are organising the Balearic Duathlon Cross Championship 2021, which is currently open to all competitors internationally. The challenge will be held on Sunday, May 9 at 10:00 in the Can Truy circuits of the town of Santa Eulària, and includes a 3km race, 10km Mountain Bike Race, and a further 1.5km race. To find out more and to register, go to the Sports Maniac Balearic Championship DUATHLÓN CROSS website.
From May 7th until 9th our annual Medieval Ibiza Fair is due to return with the focus on outdoor shows running over three days, including theater, medieval music, shows, dance, storytelling, and guided tours of Dalt Vila. All the shows are held in the Reina Sofía Park, and proceeds go to the Red Cross.
During June, many of our small local villages come alive with wonderful annual festivities and daytime markets. Our regular San Juan hippy market has recently returned every Sunday and is bustling with life and vitality, giving a true reflection of the local Ibizan spirit. A fun-filled day of live music, street food, and market stalls with local farmers’ produce, handcrafted artisan gifts, jewelry, healing crystals, Hierbas liqueurs, organic bread, coffee, leather goods, typical bohemian fashion, and plenty of local art.
St. John’s Festivities (Festes de Sant Joan / Fiestas de San Juan), which is the annual village celebration of San Juan village is also due to be held on June 23rd, attracting many visitors to celebrate the famous Flower Power party, and an evening of firecrackers and jumping through bonfires. As our usual Medieval Ibiza Fair is running, we expect this wonderful event will equally take place this year as usual.
The Social Scene in Ibiza 2021
The music scene has very much transferred into many great ‘daytime venue parties’. Everything requires a reservation, seated dining, and full table service, but you will be surprised at the up-market and relaxed atmosphere on offer, as some of the island’s DJs have taken on a slightly different element to their career.
Look out for Las Dalias Hippy Market over the weekends for a family-friendly day out. The vibe is as it always was, flowing freely with the authentic Ibiza spirit, and the food is pretty good too!
Alma Eat is Life has also been recognised for its regular live DJ event, "Life is better at the Beach", with a special bespoke BBQ service with quality cuts of meat and inclusive wine. The venue event often features the island famous DJ Andy Baxter and internationally renowned Ida Engberg.
Pikes Hotel is now offering a Brand New Food Concept of a regular brunch with the island’s famous Foodie Influencer – Love Food Ibiza. "Love Food Ibiza at Pikes is a menu designed from Tess’ worldwide culinary experiences, to cover all tastes and food desires. The dishes are predominantly ‘contemporary eclectic’ with Ayurvedic and macrobiotic influence. And, if you are looking for that DJ daytime set, then save for a visit for Sunday’s by the pool, sipping cocktails in the sun, and divulging into the world famous Pikes Sunday Roast as the sublime soundtrack soothes your soul.
For the majority, a vacation means the luxury and enjoyment of Mediterranean evenings with a little al fresco dining of great food and great wine with a little added ‘let your hair down’ late-night events.
Whilst our restaurants are open, curfews are still in place, and venues are allowed outside for seated dining on their terrace spaces until 22.00hs in most cases, with a home curfew at 23.00hs.
Exclusive Private Villa Event Opportunities
For those who wish to stay away from the cosmopolitan scene, or even for those who would prefer to keep the night young, then many private and ultra-exclusive catering teams and private chefs are available.
Intimate home dinner parties with live DJs, music, entertainment, spectacular personalised projection shows, great food, personal cocktail mixologists, and kid’s entertainment are just to mention a few of the innovative requests received across the island to create dream holidays.
